The Museum of Modern Art to Showcase Modern Prefab
Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling

The Museum of Modern Art plans to feature an upcoming exhibit on modern prefab architecture. The MoMa has commissioned five prefab designers to assemble prefab homes on a lot adjacent to the museum. The show is slated to open July 20th, but assembly of the buildings should begin in late May or early June. In addition to the homes, architects will contribute to weekly blog to document the fabrication, transportation and assembly process.

Wired Partners with LivingHomes, Creates Showcase House in L.A.

Wired Home by livinghomes
LivingHomes began construction of its WIRED LivingHome, a cooperative project of LivingHomes and wired magazine. Completion is planned for fall of 2007. The 4,057 square foot home is expected to cost $300/square foot and boast a Gold LEED rating, a solar power system, tankless water heating and much more.
Wired will ensure the latest in technology, including an automation system to control lighting, climate and security. Also planned; a state of the art gaming and media/home theater room.
